Srikurmanatha temple is one of the ancient temples devoted to Lord Vishnu in the Srikurmam village. Lord Kurmam is considered as one of the forms of Lord Vishnu and is also called as Lord Kurmanath. It is believed to be the only temple devoted to Lord Vishnu in the form of Kurmavatara, the tortoise incarnation, in the country.
The temple pillars are adorned with carvings and inscriptions dating from the 11th century to the 19th century, in Devanagari script. Various paintings and a five-storeyed gopuram are some of the attractions of the temple.
The sanctum is lighted with lamps and can be reached through a narrow passage. A long platform of stone, along with a small platform, resembles the one in the temple of Panakala Narasimha Swamy at Mangalagiri.
