Goa, a former Portuguese overseas territory and the smallest state in India is a visitors paradise in all terms beginning with exotic beaches, palatable and delicious food the relaxed lifestyles of the native that invokes a feel of laid back complacency that one so craves when on a holiday.
Comfortably located fifteen kilometres from the Goan capital, Panjim, the beach of Candolim is found in northern Goa. Located in the Bardez taluka, this is one of the longest beaches in the state beginning from Fort Aguada and to the popular Calangute. The sandy white beaches are serene, calm and peaceful, and the sun kissed aqua blue waters are further highlighted by the many shacks and scrub covered dunes at the backend of the beach that are also dotted tourists and vendors.
Candolim is the first beach that can be approached from the city of Panaji. But most part of it is acquired by the Fort Aguada beach resort and other package tourist companies. Though it is difficult to find individual accommodation here, there are a few hotels with restaurants attached.
Candolim Beach is situated in North Goa. It is located around 14 kms from the capital city Panjim. This beach lies between Sinquerim Beach and Calangute Beach. This beach is part of the long stretch of beaches along the Arabian Sea that begins at Fort Aguada and ends at Chapora Beach. Compared to Sinquerim beach and Calangute Beach this beach is relatively less crowded and cleaner. It has nice white sand. The water at this beach is also relatively clearer and good to swim. Along the beach there are a number of shacks where one can satisfy their taste buds. For the sports enthusiasts this beach offers a lot of water sports like para sailing, speed boats and banana boat rides.
