With 20 km of virgin white sands, palm fringed, and sun drenched beaches, Colva is the most loved beach of Goans. Colva, unlike Anjuna or Calangute, gained popularity only lately. Benaulim Beach is one of the wonderful beaches which are known as one of eth oldest beaches of Goa. The beach is 2 km. from Colva Beach, which is positioned in South Goa on the coast of Arabian Sea. The beach is famous beach for fishing but it is still undiscovered by domestic tourists. The beach is very beautiful from where one can view appealing view of sand blown beachfront, the gently shelving sands shimmer. The beach is covered with green trees, sea, sands and photogenic wooden fishing boats that provide wonderful view of the beach. The shade of palm tree will give complete relaxation. Moreover, on the beaches one can see Hawkers, itinerant masseurs and fruit wallahs, who appear time to time to offer various food items. The legend about Benaulim Beach says that the sixth incarnation of Lord Vishnu – Parashuram – shot an arrow in the sea and it receded to expose the land of Goa. The arrow fell at the place known as ‘Banali’ in Sanskrit and the Portuguese called it as Benaulim. An expansion of the Colva beach, Benaulim Beach Goa is not in the list of commercialized beaches, rather it is a less hyped and gorgeous beach.
This fishing and rice farming village has turned into a famous beach due to the decent inflow of tourists here, each year. An average traveler has known the Benaulim beach hardly ten years back. Today it is a popular beach in Goa. Known for its water sports and luxury resorts, this beach provides peace and beauty away from the mainland of Goa.
