Tour of Murud Janjira Raigad Maharashtra India

Murud's shore along the green forests, vast blue Arab sea and gardens of coconut trees and areca palms is indeed captivating. The golden glow of high mast lightning seen upon entering the turn ahead of Nawaab's palace at night and Murud located in the clasp of three mountains seems beautiful even in night's darkness.

Murud is a village in Raigad district, south to Alibag. It is just 45 Kms. from Alibag. The place is full of coconut and betel nut trees and has a nice and prosperous sea shore. Like other villages in Konkan, Murud is also on the seashore and there are many businesses dependent on sea which are the natives lives like Fishing and tourism. Murud is not a big village but it has a huge palace of Nawab of Murud. That is the only attraction in the village.

This shore, about 2.5 km long, filled with blue water and sand shining in tender morning sun rays, enchants tourists. One cannot find such a good and secure shore for bathing in sea. This kind of natural beauty can hardly be found on any seashore one may come across till Goa! Hence, this is the main attraction for tourists.

This shore appears clean just like the village. The whole atmosphere constantly seems delightful due to Suruchi buns on the shore, scenic palace on right side and elegant buildings of Nawaab times.

To see the golden sand, designs made by crabs on them, pearls and oysters coming with the sea-waves, tourists always crowd this shore. Thousands of them come here to experience the marvellous sunset.
