The beaches in Malvan with soft white sand is by far much better than even the Goan beaches. But for the atmosphere that one would enjoy in Goa the beaches in Malvan would have been miles ahead in popularity than the beaches of Goa. However the distinct advantage Malvan beaches have is the delicious Malvani food that gets served here which is far more agreeable to the Indian palate!!
Summer months of February to April in Malvan are hot and humid, whereas winters extending from November to January are moderate and comfortable. Monsoon in the region is characterized by heavy rainfall. Malvan can be visited throughout the year except rainy season and winters extending from November to January are supposed to be the best months to visit this destination.
Malvan city is not just famous for Malvan beach but this city opens the gate of exploring the virgin sea shore beauty of Konkan region of Maharashtra India. Among the picturesque and unexplored sea shores of Kokan region Malvan beach is of utmost importance because of famous sea fort Sindhudurg, busiest Jetty of area and proposed site for the one of its kind marine park in Asia.
Geographically Malvan is a fortified island on the coastal reef and popular for scuba diving and nearby virgin beaches like Achara Beach, Chivla Beach, Devbaug Beach and Asra Mahal Beach.
Malvan beach is also famous as the Sindhudurg Fort beach. On the Malvan beach tour you can also go for famous Tarkerli back waters beach which is hardly 8 to 10 km from the Malvan.
